Here's some highlights from the park shared by SBI Board President and Rushmore member, Tiffany Gikling:
- The park closed for the Summer 2022 on September 5.
- Staff began off-season work and event preparation (Safe and Sweet Trick n Treat and Christmas Lighting).
- On September 7th we hosted our annual Day of Caring and received 60 volunteers to assist us in park cleanup and rehabilitation.
- The 5-year-old section will be upgraded with a soft alternative grass from Forever Lawn. This will increase safety and allow our young guests to enjoy a worry-free play environment.
- Our Ice Cream Slide received a much-needed face-lift.
- The parks full time staff began installing our NEW All-Ability playset.
- Volunteers repainted the Lady's restroom.
- Our Halloween Safe N Sweet Trick or Treat event will take place on Saturday, October 29th. You can make a difference by donating candy through-out the month for the event. Our goal has increased and is now 150,000 individually wrapped pieces. Contact Jackie@storybookisland.org if you can volunteer one of the shifts.
- The park and the board of directors would love to extend our thanks for all that you do to keep our park alive.
