Strategic Planning Session April 11th

Plan to attend the April 11 Strategic Planning Session from 5:30 to 7:30 at our regular meeting location: Howard Johnson Express. During this second meeting members will focus on the activities, timeline, and tracking needed to ensure success. Rushmore Rotary is already a strong and healthy club. These assemblies are meant to set the path to make the small improvements and encourage continual growth in a positive direction to best align in providing service needed by the community, large and small.

St. Thomas More Interact Fundraiser March 1

St. Thomas More Interact Club is raising funds for water tanks at School of St. Jude. The International Committee has also contributed a matching gift of $1,000 for this effort. Thanks to everyone who made a free-will donation for the breakfast goodies as part of this fundraiser.

Children's Home Advocacy Center Gala

Making a Difference for Generations Gala was held on March 19th to benefit the Children's Home Child Advocacy Center. Thanks to Golf sponsors, Gala Sponsors, InKind donors, Rushmore Rotarians, ALL the volunteers, auction package donors and buyers, attendees, Gala committee, Childrens Home board members, and EVERYONE who made it possible, we raised over $45,000 for the Children's Home Child Advocacy Center. Best ever ! A HUGE THANK YOU.!!!

Member Shout Out

Congratulations to George Twitero who recently received a Paul Harris +7 (Major Donor) and Carmen Hansen on her Paul Harris +3. The Paul Harris Fellow program recognizes individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

Congratulation to David Dolan who was inducted to the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame and received the Dwight T. Keith Award (2022). The Dwight T. Keith Award is the highest national award that the NHSACA bestows on an individual. It is given to recognize and honor a person who has made an outstanding contribution to high school interscholastic athletics and the coaching profession. David coached a total of 87 seasons including: football for 32 years; basketball 17 years; Track and Field 38 years with 18 years as a head high school coach. Dave's girls' track teams won 2 state titles, 3 runners-ups and 3 third places while his boys' teams placed runner-up 5 times and third twice. His teams also secured 1 combined state track and field title. Service to high school athletics has been the hallmark of Coach Dolan's career along with his passion for basketball officiating.

Gala to Save the 100 Acre Wood - Feb 12th

Several Rushmore Rotarians enjoyed the Gala hosted by Storybook Island to Save the 100 Acre Woods held on February 12th. There was several opportunities to support the park and new or refurbished sets for the upcoming seasons. Thank you to everyone who participated and a special shout out to Jackie and her staff.

Community Action Cleanup Day April 23rd

Mark April 23rd on your calendar for City-Wide Cleanup Day. Meet at the Stevens High School overflow parking at 10:30 am. Also, Members volunteer on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Feeding South Dakota. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to "service above self" and interact with members.

School of St. Jude Graduation

After many years of dedication to his studies and with your support, John has graduated from the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences(CUHAS). John graduated on the 13 November 2021 from CUHAS with a Diploma in Medicine and Health Services. John is one of the third group of BSJ scholars to have accomplished this phenomenal milestone. Thanks to your incredible support, John and 89 of his peers are now equipped to become the future leaders their communities and nation needs. Over the past two years, we have celebrated graduates from different fields: accounting, engineering, education, nursing, architecture, business and so many more. Last year was even more incredible! What made last year extra special is the fact that we celebrated our very first graduate doctors. Your support of St Jude’s has made this possible.
