Our meeting today was held at the Child Advocacy Center. Rushmore Rotary has partnered with the Children's Home Society since 1989 and has contributed to every CHS/CAC construction project in the Black Hills area. Teresa Schreiner, Development and Events Manager shared our giving history and the vital role Rotary's Gala (started in 1994) and Golf Tournament (started in 1990) play in their fundraising efforts. Rushmore Rotary has raised over $2 million dollars for CAC/CHS through these two annual events. Tifanie Petro, Advocacy and Prevention Program Director, shared the mission of CAC: to prevent, treat and heal trauma. She described the process involved in forensic interviews and CAC's commitment to a prevention education platform.
