Our speaker this week was Mark Kiepke, Director for the ARISE Youth Center/West. LSS has been a leader in juvenile justice reform in South Dakota for over a decade, developing community-based solutions such as Arise Youth Centers. They partner with local law enforcement and other agencies to help young people move beyond the justice system (alternative to detention) and toward a brighter future. Mark shared information on their programs: Reception, Shelter Care, Evening Reporting (after school program), Runaway and Homeless Services and their newest program Strengthening Families.
