Our speaker today was Whitney Rencountre II, CEO of Crazy Horse Memorial. The memorial began in 1948 and today the face and hand are carved. Crazy Horse Memorial has 27 board directors nationwide and oversee over 1,000 acres at the memorial. No taxpayer funds are used and the property has the memorial, museums and a university at this time. The memorial will be three times the size of Mount Rushmore. Although there is no completion date, new technology has sped up the carving and soon they will have a robotic arm that can carve 24 hrs/day.
