The District 5610 conference was this past weekend in Sioux Falls, SD. Our club received awards for membership, 100% for Every Rotarian Every Year ($25/year), Highest given to Polio Plus, number one in Capital Fund giving, and were named Shelter Box Heroes for our donations. Congratulations Rushmore Rotary on another great service year!
Our speaker today was Dan Bilka, board vice-chair with the Rail Passengers Association and advocate for passenger rail service. All Aboard Northwest was founded in 2022 to bring passenger rail service to this region, including South Dakota. This would service large & small communities connecting to national service. Congress has the Amtrak study, but just has to act on it. If citizens desire this service they should contact their members of congress to try and move this forward.
