Carmen Hansen gave us an update from the Grants Committee and the project designated as the Rotary Plaza. This project is using funds donated in memory of George Lyons, a Rushmore Rotarian, and supplemented by a District Grant, and in-kind contributions by several project partners to create an outdoor space at Rapid City High School. The project includes 5 benches, a bike rack and a skateboard rack. The committee has worked with RCHS staff and students, and local project partners Lind Exco (Doug Lind, Tanner Hoffman), KLJ (Dana Foreman), WDT (Ann Bolman, Michael Prugh) to design a sustainable space for students and staff to enjoy. WDT will be building the bike and skateboard racks, and Lind Exco will be doing the site work.
